Baptisms

Baptism is the fundamental sacrament of our entry into the life of Christ in the Church. It is the gateway to all the other sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Baptism gives us new birth into Christ; it washes away our sins; it initiates us into the Paschal Mystery; and it incorporates us into the communion of saints.

At St Therese and St Anthony’s we normally celebrate the baptisms on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month except during Lent. However, for special needs, please contact the Parish Office and speak with Fr Mario to arrange a baptism at other times.

This is especially relevant in 2020 due to disruptions from COVID-19.

For adults the preeminent Sunday is Easter itself, and at St Therese and St Anthony’s we celebrate Adult baptisms at the Easter Vigil (unless there is an emergency) after the person has gone through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

If you are a member of St Therese of Lisieux and St Anthony of Padua and would like to schedule the baptism of your child of 7 years of age or younger, please contact:
